Year 10 and some select year 11 photography students had a wonderful visit to Bristol to see the prestigious photography exhibition called ‘Sugar Paper Theories’ by Jack Latham at the Royal Photographic Society, based on forensic photography surrounding a murder case in Iceland. Imagine our surprise when looking at the work, we were met by Jack Latham himself, who very kindly gave a talk about his work and even had a little time to talk to students and take a few photographs. Following this exhibition we then braved the rain to walk around the maritime area of Bristol looking at the ‘Arnolfini’ a contemporary art gallery, and a spot of lunch before returning to Wey Valley. All students were a credit to the Wey valley Academy and can use this experience in their current projects back in school.
