Students took part in drug awareness assemblies this week lead by Mr Lydford and assisted by Beans the sniffer dog and his handler Lester. Students were shown how drugs can effect local communities and how organised crime and County Lines target young adults in rural areas. Some students took part in a line up where dummy packages were hidden on their person for Beans the dog to find.

Beans and Lester who are part of K9 Deployment, a company working across central and southern parts of the UK then spent time touring the Academy and visiting classrooms

Mr Lydford said “the day was a huge success” and Lester commented “the students were amazing and Wey Valley is a great school.”
