Wey Valley Academy’s enrichment programme is now well under way and our Years 7 and 8 pupils have been busy partaking in their activities of choice. One activity on offer is ‘Snoods 4 Hounds‘, an exciting ‘action in the community’ project. Wey Valley Academy has teamed up with Margaret Green Rescue, a local animal charity, and our pupils are making woolly snoods to keep the dogs who are patiently waiting for their forever homes in kennels, warm. Mrs Guillemet, Miss Govier and Mrs Lear have commented on how, through their love of dogs and passion for animal welfare, our pupils have risen to the challenge. With sheer determination and focus, they have learnt a new skill and are helping to promote awareness of the work animal rescues do. We cannot wait to donate our snoods to these lovely hounds!
