The Health and Social Care students were treated to a visit and training from Gary Hepurn, Gary set up Sirius Business Services Ltd (Sirius) at the end of 2000. Sirius has provided a full range of First Aid, Medical, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and Fire Safety training and consultancy ever since. Today he was working with our students training them in basic first aid procedures for their own personal development and coursework unit. Gary was very impressed with our students, they were keen and engaging, asking lots of great questions. Well done Year 10!

The Business Studies also had a special guest today, Daniel Pettitt from ‘Daniels Fish and Chips’, a local business entrepreneur.  Daniel has successfully owned his own business in the town for 25 years and he was able to give students a wonderful insight into what’s involved in running a business.  Students developed an understanding of the risks involved in enterprise, marketing, hiring of staff and social trends and market changes that affect all businesses.
Daniel presented two students with £10.00 vouchers!

There may be some future entrepreneurs in our students, watch this space! Well done year 10
