Six Year 11 students from The Wey Valley Academy took part in the annual Chase the Pudding Event in aid of The Will Mackaness Trust. The six students raised £100 in donations. The 5km fun run across Weymouth Beach is normally held the weekend before Christmas with over 200 participants but due to current restrictions has become a virtual event this year. The students have all benefited from support from the local charity and wanted to give something back. Chris Fox achieved a great time of 16.8 minutes and said he really enjoyed the challenge and is currently training to go into the Marines. Marcus White who raised the most sponsorship said it was great to give something back and it was really quite challenging over the soft sand and pebbles. On lookers appeared quite bemused at the site of 6 Santas sprinting along the beach! If you would like to take part and be a part of something truly special this festive season, signing up for our Chase the Virtual Pudding event on the weekend of the 19th/20th December. Sadly this year due to the ongoing covid-19 restrictions our attended event on the beach at Weymouth isn’t viable, however we are able to go virtual!

Sign up and run the 5km wherever you like, festive dressing up encouraged! For the under 16s we also have Chase The Elf, a 2km option.
