Artistic Director Inspires Students

Pupils at Wey Valley Academy were  inspired to hear a talk delivered by the Artistic Director of Dorchester Arts, Mark Tattersall. Mark explored his career in the performing arts sector with his audience . His lecture was part of the Friday Live series based at Wey Valley but talks will now be steamed across the Authentic Education Trust to other academies.

Mr Tattersall discussed his relationship with Sony Music and how he managed Alison Moyet, Suede, Bros and Oasis. He then continued to explore his current employment at Dorchester Arts as its Artistic Director and the skills from the past he is using for this .The presentation really did inspire Year 10 students studying and wishing to pursue a career in performing arts . One student said ‘ this talk has made me rethink my plan for the future - I want to be involved in the music industry’. Head of Performing Arts, Mark Chutter, said ‘ my thanks to Mr Tattersall for such an insight into the world of the arts and the potential career opportunities for our pupils here at Wey Valley’.
