Diversity Council Meeting

Dawn Henderson from Dorset Council delivered a talk to the Wey Valley Academy Diversity Council regarding 'Chesil Youth Pride 2025'. This event will be held on Saturday 28^th June at Weymouth College. The theme for the session also covered intersectionality and section 28 as February is LGBTQ+ History Month. One student said ' I really did learn about inclusivity and the diversity of our community'. Dawn Henderson said, 'I would like Wey Valley to organise a stall at the event in partnership with the other academies in Weymouth - the work you have undertaken around LGBTQ+ champions and allies is outstanding'. Mark Damon Chutter, Head of Performing Arts and Diversity Council Lead, said 'my thanks to Dawn Henderson for such an engaging and informative session to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month '.
