Dorset Primary Dance Festival
Last week Wey Valley Academy hosted the Dorset Dance Festival involving primary schools from across Weymouth. Our Year 10 Dance students choreographed and led the workshops and dance routines with the Year 6 pupils. There were workshops in the morning and then a performance in the afternoon with parents . Joey Wormington who organised the Dance Festival said, ' the standard of dance was extremely high, and Wey Valley is such an innovative academy to study the arts - the students are to be congratulated'. Mark Chutter, Head of Performing Arts said' this was an innovative transition event and it is a privilege to be working in partnership with the Dorset Festival'. Wey Valley have been asked to host again in 2026!
